My dressform

Over the last year and a half, and most recently, yesterday, I’ve been asked about my dressform.  This post may sound like an advertisement, but it’s not.  I’m just a very loyal customer of the Uniquely You dressform, which costs $139 at http://www.allbrands.com/products/abp03900.html.  Since I’ve gone up and down dramatically in size, I’m lucky enough to have enough forms to show you what she looks like covered and nekkid.  When she first arrives at your house, she is a vaguely lady-shaped foam block with breasts.  The form on the left is the nekkid foam.  She also comes with a lovely tan or pink twill cover.  The fitting procedure does require help from someone you are quite familar with.  You put the twill cover on, inside out, and pin the seams snuggly or mark where you need to let them out.  You then sew on the new pinned seams.  Here comes the fun part.  The cover then gets zipped onto the foam block.  This is a MAJOR struggle, usually requiring the form to be put on the floor and me standing on the back, holding the edges together while another person zips the zipper.  If she needs padding out, you add the cotton while you are zipping.  In the end, you have a form that is almost exactly you, with your pouchy tummy, swayback, one shoulder higher than the other, long waist, short waist, whatever.  The foam blocks come in 4 sizes, from 29in bust to 51in bust and each block has 3 cover size options.  If you loose or gain 10-20lbs, you can get a new cover and refit the foam block, instead of having to buy a whole new system.  Looking at my form, I realize that I should probably refit the cover.  I know her tummy needs some more padding out.  I hope you’ve enjoyed the look at the Uniquely You.
